Not a Messy Bun

This is how I put up my hair on a bun with a metal ring thingy.

It’s definitely not the perfect bun cause I hair combed only and strands are sticking out but this is as well put together as I can get and in my opinion, not a messy bun. Haha!

What’s on my face

  • Olay Natural White Day Cream
  • Etude House Goodbye Pore Ever stick (makes BB cream less oily)
  • EH All Day Strong BB Cream
  • Nature Republic Shine Blossom Rose Blush
  • EH Dr. Oil mist
  • EH Drawing Eyebrows
  • Prestige Perfectly Clear Mascara (used on brows)
  • EH Secret Beam Pact
  • Burts Bees Lip Shimmer in Rhubarb
  • Invested on my bases for a clear blank canvas and went simple and natural on the colors for a fuss free shopping day with baby Mio 🙂 no outfit shot as I am quite fat (for my size and preference, no need to get angry) and I’m really determined to lose the tummy because my sister is already a size smaller than me..haha! Love you Jas! 😉

    What’s in my retouch purse:

  • Nature Republic Shine Blossom Rose Blush
  • Nature Republic Petit Pact
  • Burts Bees lip shimmer
  • Three items baby! I’m sooooow officially low maintenance today! 😉

Review: Shine Blossom Rose Blush in 04 Lovely Rose by Nature Republic

    20120930-112407.jpg

The very first time I fell in love with a rose make up product was when The Body Shop came up with the Rose Flower Blush which was ages ago and when I’ve hit the pan..like any lovely HG blush, it went off the shelves, here’s the blush just cause it deserves so much love 🙂

    20120930-105157.jpg

Its a nice baby pink color with the slightest of glimmer and smells like roses..ahh 🙂

The next time was a Rose blush from CG, Rose lip balm from Nivea, Rose Lipstick from Lancome and now, a rose blush from Nature Republic. To be honest, not as close as the perfection of the pinkness, glimmer and lasting power of the one from Body Shop but this is a total winner in a whole other level.

    20120930-104729.jpg

Cased in a dainty tin with a lovely print design I was immediately sold to, it includes a cutie little puff that’s surprisingly awesome for application. Even before swatching, I was pretty sure I wanted this in my day time make up kit. Upon trying this on the back of my hand, the rose scent was so lovely it made me so much eager to take them home..I was really torn between shades 03 and 04. 03 was a more pink shade while the one I got is baby pink, since I was on a search for a dainty pink blush remember? :))

    20120930-112005.jpg

I love how I could use this on it’s own unlike the other one I need a cream blush first to make the pigment really show. The finish is really quite natural. No unnecessary shimmer, no nonsense sheen. Just a natural pink blush (most natural when applied with the included puff applicator) That lasts averagely around 4 hours on a sweaty day. I don’t mind retouching though cause it’s pretty, it’s small and portable and I’ve totally fallen for the rose scent. I love how the powder feels so light and soft and lovely like baby powder on my face. This is really great for retouch because there’s no need for a brush or much blending.

Speaking of retouching, I bought this with my HG Retouching Pact and look at the goodies I got with them 🙂

Review Nature Republic Petit Pact in #23 Beige

    20120925-235706.jpg

I’ve first came across Nature Republic about a year ago on their Festival Mall branch. From then, I can remember one of my purchases which was the Petit Cherry Rouge. Just cause it was so tiny and cute like a little girls toy lipstick. And the word cherry was inviting and it was quite affordable..however it’s really small so not very “economic” anywho, I loved how pretty the color was, and how easy it it to apply and it’s wear time. The only down side was how easily it melted. Can you imagine how small it is and I didn’t even get to finish it cause I hate melted lip sticks..too messy for my taste.

Recently, I went back and fell in love with one of the blushers that I shall review next time. I told myself I don’t need a new powder pact because my staple one still works so well (plus the fact that I still have one too many at home just sulking in loneliness.) HOWEVER the cuteness of it being so small and an image of how convenient this is to bring because I’ve been carrying very small bags when I’m out with Mio cannot leave me in peace so I just bought it too.

    20120925-235538.jpg

It’s a little expensive for it’s size but the packaging is why I wanted it so bad. It’s so small and easy to slip into any little purse; even those tiny zip up pouches we never leave home without..I know all you OC girls have this in your bags!! 🙂 Also what sold me was that when you open it, there’s a separate space for the sponge (off from the powder) which makes it so sanitary don’t you think?

I use this only for retouching my oily face. It’s a sheer slightly matte, slightly sheen finish powder..as in it’s really matte but on a very subtle tone highlights the face when the lighting cooperates 😉 it’s great cause it doesn’t leave a white cast..one thing I avoid when picking my retouching products because can you imagine spending hours with people, retouch, then come back for them to see you so very matte and white when they’ve seen you just a few minutes ago. I’m such a bad narrator but can you just imagine my point? One minute you’re oily, next you’re ultimately fair and matte? :)) I’m just glad this baby gives a pretty sheen 🙂 Or SILKY yep. That’s the word for it. I just spent a whole paragraph that only means silky..hahaha!

    Size
    Separate space for sponge
    Pretty “silky” finish
    Doesn’t break me out
    Takes care of shine
Doesn’t interfere with cheek color (retouch key!)

    Dislikes
The mirror is too small for me to view my whole face..or is it just me? But it’s good enough to check my teeth, then lipstick, then nose, then eyes..haha! It’s a retouch powder after all!! 😉

When I saw this I immediately thought “I’ve found my ultimate retouching powder!” And it really is for me 😉

    Lovely Cookie Blusher

Review Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in #2 Strawberry

    20120925-233641.jpg

I’ve been on a mega search for a dainty pink cheek color that’s gonna be my staple for school. Ive been hating the energy I waste trying to select from so much color recently cause I’ve been so busy and stressed out with school..this search has brought me to even more makeup purchases..what’s wrong with me? Lol! Any who. I’ve been switching it up among three items but this has been my safe bet for daytime even when I’m out with.

    20120925-214909.jpg

I got this last (among all the dainty pinks I’ve tried out) because it’s been out of stock and although I wanna collect all the pretty colors from EH Lovely Cookie Blusher line, I’ve been sticking to trying to make it subtle and matte. So for now, I’m reallyhappy with this one (although I’ve my eyes on a bright pink and a rose with golden specks.) Also, among all my blushers, this is the only one that goes so well over my Bloom Sheer Colour Cream. I like my bloom blush cause the formula works so well on my skin and it adds the glow I wish I had everyday but considering Biochem and Anatomy..the glow will have to be faked! 😉

    20120925-215704.jpg

the one diagonally this way \ is Bloom Sheer Colour Creme. This way / is the Lovely Cookie Blusher

Lovely Cookie Blushers come in a fool proof plastic thats easy to keep away from stain and in a color that matches the pan really well. It’s almost transparent on the cover but the included puff covers the whole thing to see what color you have. I love the puff. It’s just a little hard to hold but it picks up and applies just the right amount of blush (and I’ve been hating how brushes make so much falloff/wasted powder all over the pans) it’s also easy to control and mega soft to my face..I feel like a baby’s butt with the puff and powder thing..hihi!

The color is a really light pink that may even look ashy (but on a very minimal tone) on some skin tones. I bet some skin tones, this won’t even show at all. Which makes it perfect to go on my cream blush cause there’s no too much pigment and I’ve been trying to transition into a more bare looking face..a sign that I’m getting more comfortable in school (after almost four freakin months, I’m just settling now..haha!) I like how it’s matte but not flat. My oily skin has been really testing the mattes in my powder collection..I don’t know how I can be so oily when the weather is supposed to be colder. Urgh. It’s also the reason why my previous favorites are not working recently..the oiliness make all my good pigmented cheek colors go too dark for my taste. Wear time, i haven’t tested this on it’s own; but over my cream blush it lasts me around 6 hours considering how hot the weather is recently and running after Mio makes me sweat like:/

  • pretty packaging
  • fool proof puff applicator
  • doesn’t break me out
  • doesn’t interfere with my cheek color and in fact sets it quite well
  • easy to blend
  • lovely finish that’s sheer and not overpowering, matte but just enough for the pigment to show without looking ashy (on my oily skin)

  • the puff is a little hard to hold on to..theres no actual handle or something.
  • no mirror. I retouch in school, and sadly our building still doesn’t have mirrors; and I’d like to hold just one product when I do so.
  • Isn’t it annoying how many words I can actually type and how much flight of thoughts I can do when blogging a single article?? Haha! Sorry you guys, I haven’t blogged in A WHILE and I’ve been so excited to talk about so much make up purchases!! 😉

    I’ll leave it at that now..happy?? 😉

    Pinky Lips Once More

    Shopping fever is mega contagious..

My Nanay just bought a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in a shade mucho close to our purchase a couple of days ago. It’s also cool pink (but much more pink than my pale one, this is closer to a true pink) and in the car she regarded it as partners with our last lippie even if we can’t wear them together, it just goes to show that she caught the pink lippie bug! :)) I’m making this soooper quick cause I’ve got my Anatomy book waiting for me but I just wanna share the lurve 🙂 I’m not a Revlon fan as I am a very judgemental person (hahaha! Half kidding) but seeing this pencil got my heart singing and yes so far my lips are happy 🙂

    20120906-161308.jpg

First Impression: I love the dainty fool proof look of the pen and the nice scent it has. The color is between sheer and pigmented. As in it doesn’t look like I’ve a thick layer of something on my lips however, the pigment shows very well. What I’m trying to say is that the product melts so well on the lips: nothing settles into lines, no buildup of product along the inner side of the lips and it’s just perfectly light although the pigment is very obvious. The minty feel reminded me mucho of Burts Bees but I could feel it’s almost greasiness very much. With the pretty color though, it’s very much forgivable. About the staying power, lets see, I’ve just had this on for prolly two mins and decided to type this post right away cause it’s really pretty 🙂

If this has a good staying power and doesnt make my lips flake or dark, I’ve got my eyes set on another fun set of shades to collect 😉

    ❤ Jessica

Ps. Which balm stain would you recommend for me to try cause I'm obviously very much sold already to get more of these chubby pens! 🙂
