Day in Makati without Mio means walking on however high heels I have on, whatever uncomfortable but pretty clothes I’m wearing and my hair ever so messy and be mega fuss free all day and night..HOWEVER, a day in Makati with Mio means that I’d wanna cut down on the running after Mio and all the fuss that comes with mommy duties. So here’s what iwore on a hot day..sheer top and shorts.
I’ve been trying out the high top bun to keep my hair away from my face on mommy duties.
So clean and sleek huh? It’s actually a little messy..but a bun never goes out of date with me ever since the ballerina days 🙂 See how I’ve almost no make up on?? Haha! Haggard mucho?
Here’s the little runner! 🙂
Ps. Now off to get ready for another day in Manila-Makati with Mio..can't believe I've classes again tomorrow!!

Review: Lip Smackers in Coca Cola
So I saw this in Watsons while I was in search of an alcohol spray and it was love at first sight. Impulsive buying is not a very good thing to do. Of course I was torn between vanilla but the classics came first right? Then I’m really wishing the cherry ones be available soon..and M&M’s ones!! 🙂 I know Robinsons sell Lip Smackers but not the cola ones so yayy for Watsons! 😉
Anywhoo of course this wasn’t at par with my ideal lip balms cause moisture and no gloss are my key points. This one looks glossy with a faint tint of brown that makes my lips look alive and the moisture factor seems to last only while it’s on considering I would’ve eaten it up in a couple of hours. I do love the scent so I shall not crave for Coke and I love the packaging 🙂 I’m still torn if I’ll be giving this away or if I shoud try out the others (I do love the packaging) even if I know they don’t do much with the moisture and they are quite too glossy for me.
Eitherway, don’t these babies make us wanna collect them all cause they make us feel so connected with out sweet tooth of a child’s past now that were supposed to stay away from sweets??! 🙂 #ElderlyProblems hahaha!

First Impression: awesome shimmer baby pink great to layer over my cream blush for a subtle everyday blush that glows and lasts 😉

Translated: Aug 21, You really are epic! 😉
So, weeks ago, some thoughts have been bugging my head and so I’ve decided that on this particular day, I shall tell you guys the following things just cause. The first plan was this topic
This because there’s no way for me to tell you how I feel yet I need to say things so I could now move on and tell myself, “you’ve published it already, now stop thinking about it.” I’m such a sorry excuse for anything dramatic. Anywhoo with the turn of events, I’ve spent my long weekend on
And that is the story of my dads sickness..he’s in recovery right now and I do wish he recover very soon, we miss him very much! As for the other matters in this world (please do not assume this is you..lol)
Thus I did not get to master the lectures I was supposed to memorize on this 4day weekend.
Life, why you making this series of events keeping me from getting some actual sleep?! 🙂
God, you know what to do 🙂
BTW. This is Baby Mio guarding my Dad, who just rolled in from the OR, like a BOSS and me finding comfort in my Hungry Hippo burger after the 4day weekend! 😉
Ps. Lo and behold another flight of ideas..sigh.

Pink with Gold sparkles.
Yep. Don’t you love how well pink and gold looks on everything? Clothes, jewelry, furniture, walls?? 🙂 shows off how hopeless romantic/girly girl I can go..haha! My Lola Tita came home to the Philippines second time this year a couple of weeks ago. The first time in January, she came home with loads of make up goodies from Lancome for me and my sis. The Color Design sets came with eyeshadow, brushes, mascarra, lippies and make up remover. The first time, I got the Vintage Rose lipstick while my sister took the It Girl one. On this visit, Lola Tita brought another Lancome Color Design Lipstick in It Girl and we all know it’s definitely going to my make up bag 🙂
To cut the long story short, my gosh, I just discovered that (on my skin) these two look so much alike! Perfect matches of the prettiest pink with golden specks that will work anywhere and anytime 🙂 I’m only waiting for the most OSM eyeshadow palette and this goes into an InstaGlam bag for all the biglaan going out look 😉 I’m super happy Lola Tita gifted this lippie to me! 🙂
Except from the fact that Bella Bamba is powder so there is less pigment and bigger sparkles while It Girl is a cream lipstick that looks a almost opaque pink with a golden sheen, they really look so much alike on my skin don’t you think? This day I wore the blush over Snoe Glam Jam in Blush which is a sheer bright pink cream/gel tint so the color is much more developed and would stay much longer; considering this is a no retouching day cause I was with Mio for a Manila-Moa-Marikina day. The lip color I wore over Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Glow in Pink Blast cause it’s my fave lip care as of this week! 😀
This was the day we picked my sister up in Manila, ate pizza in SM Mall Of Asia and went to my Titos house in Marikina for dinner cause it was his birthday. In other words, haggard day which required fuss free make up and clothes so I decided to wear this dress which has a circle skirt that perfectly hides my post baby tummy under the color blocking skirt..haha! I’ve been eating too much these days but I cannot help it, I can only disguise all these imperfections by cheating your eyes! 🙂 (remember my eye make up tricks to avoid looking old in my eyeglasses post? Haha!)
Also, because I know I’ll be running around to catch Mio and the dress being very body hugging on top, I opted to slightlycover up with a sheer button up (in a color matching Mios shorts this day..haha! 🙂 see? I’m a matchy matchy addict..I always try to make Mio’s outfit match mine..hehe! :)) Can you just imagine now how glad I was to discover this perfectly matchy matchy Lippie and Blush?? 😀
About my no retouch make up goal, I only had to retouch my lips after eating and my blush stayed until after midnight! 🙂 Amidst all the sweat, running, and eating I’m so glad how well this look wasn’t too much for day to night and how fuss free the whole look was without compromising being almost pretty in pink 😉
What can you say about this look? 😉

Spectacles would never look so “Bagay” 🙂
When I first wore my glasses to school my friends were all like, “Jes its bagay sayo” which translates to something like Jes it looks well on you which means that I’m prolly doing something right cause the first time I wore them, darn did I look old..mommy vibes all the way.
Clearly, something had to be done.
My first cheat is the Etude House Oh M’Eye Line in the brown shade. Eyes, behind the lenses tend to disappear and sometimes (like with my eyes and specs) you just don’t want that to happen. To make my eyes more defined and visible behind the specs, I lined my eyes with brown liquid liner. This is actually my first time to use a liquid liner but I opted to try it because
1) it’s usually the most affordable one
2) it’s easiest to take off
3) it doesn’t smudge and
4) it lasts all day.
I’ve shied away from liquid liners cause it looked difficult to manage but to my surprise, this was the quickest one to use considering I put this on everyday. When I line my eyes very thinly, it really looks like there’s nothing on my eyes (nice cheat huh?) 🙂 when I do cateyes (or cause I just get carried away and line to thickly..haha!) it still doesnt look to much for daytime cause the specs cover my eyes anyway 🙂
Second cheat is an additional layer of primer on my nosey. We all know that having to wear specs, it rests on your nose and we don’t want blisters on our Nose do we? Also, we totally do not want dark nose spots because glasses fade the nose foundation big time. I use EH Goodbye Pore Ever Stick on my nose before the foundation (another gift from Nanay.) I use this cause
1) it adds a layer of protection on my skin
2) it helps the make up last longer and
3) keeps the nose oilies at bay 🙂
This is a soft cream to powder stick that can be directly applied on the skin. It has a translucent matte finish that may or may not need a little blending to look seamless. It’s a hassle free step that works so well 🙂
With facial colors, I’m still in my bright pink high ala Barbie peg 🙂 but for a more mature look, go for some glowing roses and nudes on the lips and cheeks 🙂 Eyecolors aren’t too necessary anymore, since eyeliners are already visible and glasses frame eyes already, no need for so much fuss. UNLESS you want some more contour to make eyes look deeper or much bigger, use browns 😉
Ps. I can never forget saying spectacles cause I learned that from Ms. Trish waaay back in high school! 🙂

My stand (stand talaga with conviction) on th RH Bill.
I shall not go into the legalities of it all because that’s easily Google-able for you 😉
I know how many debates have gone crazy over this. This is not debatable. This is quite sensitive for Filipinos and all opinions should be respected. I however, shall try to “influence” you with my stand..haha! I for the record shall state that I have nothing against the Church nor the people who do not support the RH Bill because I know that they stand in good faith that Filipinos do not need the RH Bill. Being a nursing graduate and medical school student, I stand in good faith that the Filipinos need the RH Bill.
If not all Filipinos, then the parents of the children who knock at your car window asking for some change need the RH Bill. Also those children need the RH Bill as they grow up. Maybe with RH Bill those mothers who have died in relation to pregnancy are living and taking care of their babies right now. Because the RH Bill does not support abortion, then maybe the cases of abortion (because there ARE A LOT going on) would be decreased. Little children in the streets who would say “bastos” when other kids joke about maliscious things need RH Bill so they will be guided; so that they learn the proper knowledge from the propper people.
I, for one, am not the perfect person to lecture you about safe sex and parenthood and abstinence. Duh. I had an unplanned pregnancy. In spite of all the contraceptive techniques that I’ve learned and supposed to teach when I become a Registered Nurse, I still got pregnant. And even if I was months from my dreams, I put everything on hold to keep my baby. No I’m not saying that you should admire me for that..everything at that point would’ve been avoided if only I kept myself on the better path. I’m just saying that maybe if my parents were so closed minded about pregnancy and single motherhood, they would’ve sent me out of our home. They would have stopped guiding me and can you imagine where I’d be right now?
Blessed with understanding parents, Ive finished college and now pursuing Medicine. How about the others? The ones who got pregnant and chose to abort the baby because of financial, personal or career related restraints? Have a baby and you lose your job. Have a baby and forget that you were part of this family. Have a baby and let us see how you can afford to buy the milk, diapers and expensive vaccines. Do you think that people who experience these kinds of pressure and give in are EVIL? No. The society is evil for not being able to accept the reality of an unborn blessing. The society is evil for judging. And the mothers who abort their children are confused. That is why they need people to support and guide them.
How about these married couples? Marriage is not the license to have a football team of kids to starve. Marriage is the starting point to create a family in love. And with love, comes responsibility. Responsibility not only to feed your children food thrice everyday. It also comes that you should be supportive to them and teach them values. That you create great memories for them to cherish. I know nothing about working parents but I pity children who can’t spend time with their over worked parents. I pity most children who work because what their parents earn is not enough for them. Worse, that they only beg or turn to wrongdoings just to get some money for food.
Yes the government has a lot more problems to prioritize however, the government can’t keep giving people jobs because there already are too many people. Worse, parents don’t even work anymore because they want the government to feed their children. Where is the responsible parenthood there? When they kept their baby thru pregnancy only to starve them until they die of famine? The government can’t keep feeding children and the private organizations can’t keep giving slippers and school supplies to children during their reach out activities. Social awareness is not only for the people who want to help. Those who need the help should be socially aware of how they SHOULD help themselves. People would always want to help but at least, the people they help could keep themselves provided with basic needs already.
Not to mock the Church but when Jesus fed the thousands, it was only one meal. Even Jesus could not feed them everyday for the rest of their lives. Like what was said in the Bible, shouldn’t we teach them how to fish rather than simply give them fish? (I’m not sure now if that came from the bible..haha!) of course the church also said that blessed are those who are “poor and struggling” but what if they have come to a point that they’re not trying anymore to improve their children’s future? Or that they turn to crimes for money? I think that education is key so the change starts within the people who need to change. They should know how to improve their lives and not simply blame the corruption in the government for poverty. Corruption will always be there and so as citizens who are not working for the government, let us make this change on our own.
It’s been said that the government only wants some population control over the poor but honestly, anything good even the Bible could be used negatively if used with wrong intentions. This is not a way of limiting the population of the poor. This is an eye opener for all Filipinos rich and poor alike. It’s just that obviously, the poor will benefit more from this cause they will now be guided about raising a family. The Church offers them guidance but what about those who are not Catholics?
I feel sorry for the children in the streets. I also feel sorry for all the maternal deaths. I feel sorry for the non Catholics who do not have the Church to guide them about their family. I feel sorry for the young parents who were sent out of the house, or are struggling with their children until they eventually become (bad) incapable parents with sickly and starving children.
Say NO to maternal deaths. Say NO to fetal deaths. Say NO to street children. Say YES to RH Bill.
PS Spoken like a true aspiring OB GYN. See? I’m so pro life like that 😉
