Snoe for Summer

03/29/2012 § 5 Comments

Finally I’ve found Snoe! 🙂

I’ve seen a couple of Snoe products from beauty bloggers I follow and I found the packaging very pretty 🙂 only recently did I learn that they had a BB Cream for only 249php and so ihad to do some research and a fair share of asking around to finally get my hands on them.

This is the Festival Supermall stall located at the ground floor near the Shopwise side along with various scattered stalls. I just had to explain so people don’t find themselves lost as I was in a mall I’ve been going to since I was a kiddo.

I loved how everything looked so pretty from the packaging it looks so homemade (as in the milk bottles are totes adorbs!) and vintage which are two things I ADORE 🙂

Here are what I came home with 🙂

Three items while I spent only a little more than 600php..super steal! And I just have to mention how Heart was so helpful to me with making my decision and she even asked how the products felt on my skin. Giving me the perfect shade, truthfully answering my questions and the very friendly tone 🙂

I’m looking forward to MORE purchases and when Snoe would finally arrive in my hometown Santa Rosa 🙂

As for tonight, here are what’s on my list..don’t judge! Lol! 🙂

Here’s one look I came up with the use of Snoe S Skin BB Cream and Four Seasons of Blush 🙂

Wonder Pore Freshner

Meet my Wonder Pore family! 🙂

Review: Wonder Pore Freshner from Etude House

I’m not much of a toner fan. I actually have used them only back in high school when I had acne problems. Then lately, when I had to take my skin care to the next level, I decided to use this one regularly (along with my DIY Ponds Mist..if you remember my DIY Lucky me I’ve received a sample of this toner ages ago. That’s why there’s a baby Wonder Pore in my family portrait..haha! 🙂

What I love about this:

1) non drying on my skin
2) no awful or alcoholic scent
3) can be used as mist (see the mommy on the portrait?)
4) the packaging
5) leaves my skin feeling soft rather than dry
6) did not break me out
7) really makes my pores smaller ergo smoother for make up application

What I didn’t like about this:

It was only available in 750ml which is too much for me..I’m afraid that I won’t get to finish the bottle and it would only get contaminated. I’ve finally purchased this when the 400-ish ml packaging was made available.

I just really like this cause it’s effective, doesn’t dry my skin (dry skin=wrinkles) and the pretty packaging. Hehe! 🙂

❤ Jessica

PS Do you also find it a con when the packaging is soo big, bulky and heavy? 🙂

No Cheat Week: Boxing Them

03/25/2012 § Leave a comment

Welcome to No Cheat Week Day 1 😉

Today, Ate Neng, our helper, left for a week of vacation to attend her sons graduation day. Ate Neng being the best helper ever takes care of everything in the house: cleaning, errands, cooking and the occasional babysitting. And she really does everything in a superb manner which is why I know how much it’s like cheating on chores, errands etc.

I know that even with the helper I should be doing things like making my bed, organizing my clothes, bags, make up etc, washing Mio’s bottles and most importantly, making my cup of coffee..or should I say cups! 🙂 but Ate Neng gets to them before I even try to (lame excuse) I’m just so darn thankful at how helpful she is around all of us here..she’s our house angel.

Because she’s left, I had to make a major clean up of my make up things which she so carefully reorganizes when I leave the house. Im not a pig especially with my make up cause I like them organized for me to easily choose what I like but because the collection grows so fast and I use them everyday, they tend to be a mess sometimes until Ate Neng finds time to put them in order 🙂

I already have my stuff in groups to help me find things but I needed one big case to hold all of them in. Here’s the mess after I’ve collected everything from used bags and separate kikay kits.

Dreadful I know..don’t judge! Ima try to organize everything and prove that I can totes be as responsible as Ate 🙂

This ones a hanging accessories holder which I got from SM Dept. Store where I place all my everyday things like day creams, eye creams, toner mists, sunnies, eye roll ons etc. I feel I might need to buy a bigger one soon..please suggest a good quality one if you know any 🙂

Then this is my make up collection in boxes bought from Saizen. These rather are the make up I like using, other make up are in my Mom’s and sister’s room. They don’t like shopping make up except for their foundation and moisturizers (which are very personal to us cause we have very different skin types) but I get to share with them other stuff I buy but look better on them. Make up never gets wasted in our family. My moms olive skinned, my sister has cool undertones and I’m whatever doesn’t work for me works for either of them :))

Skin care things. I like buying small packs that I can bring anywhere and I could easily dispose cause I have bad feelings with old opened packs..spell contamination :))

Lippies. Most used lip balms on top and everything else goes to the bottom part..because this pack is full, I’m so not buying any more lippies unless it’s the little ones from Sophie 🙂

Blushes and Powders. I like keeping them laid out like this to easily select a different one everyday 🙂

Eye things. I don’t usually fuzz much with my eyes so this box stays at the bottom of my biggest box cause I’m trying to avoid wrinkles and I’ve been avoiding too much color (feeling too matured for colors na on regular days.. lol) besides, I’ve placed my liners, clear and black mascaras, brow pens and concealers already in my everyday hanging thing 🙂

Palettes, Foundation, Big bottles and other things. Since I don’t use foundations and BB creams everyday, I keep them in this big box together with the palettes, bags, and big bottles of toners which I don’t use much.

Accessories. As in makeup, hair and nail tools cause I’m not much of a fan of necklaces, rings, bracelets etc. except for my everyday watch. Buti na Lang, my mom and sister are the ones fond of them so I save my room from more clutter of belts, headbands, scarves, bangles, etc. I just get what I need from their rooms sometimes I even leave them in the bathroom after use (cause Ate Neng puts them abusado much?) :))

Heres how I keep everything together in the biggest box. As you can see, I can’t even put the cover on cause of my big boxes inside. Mom even offered me the next size bigger boz but it already looked like a huge toy chest so I settled with this one. I just made sure that my powders, blushes, lippies and tools are easiest to get to.

Honestly a bit proud of how I made everything fit together (even if I had to throw out some things, others put into my moms and sister’s stash..hehe!) I may be a little disorganized when I’m in a hurry but when I get organized, I sometimes tend to be so OC which is my best mental defect..haha! 🙂

❤ Jessica

PS Watch out, for the next one of the series, tomorrow is my chores day :))

PPS No Cheat Week because the way Ate Neng makes everything easy around the house feels like I'm majorly cheating 😉

Book vs Movie: The Hunger Games

03/25/2012 § Leave a comment

So, I don’t have so much time to read or watch movies anymore but I blog to escape so here I’ll let my brain marvel at what I loved and hated about The Hunger Games.

Honestly, the genre isn’t in my comfort zone but I gave reading this book a try cause both my siblings have read it and I hate getting lost in conversation when this book comes up. Also, I like seeing how movie makers make books into something “watchable” cause I really feel like the details which make the book beautiful doesn’t always look appealing in film.

I finished reading the book last Thursday when everyone was already commenting on how great the movie was..poor me. I did enjoy how it was I can picture everything from how Katniss sees things. I loved how details were so meaningful in the book. I also loved how it wasn’t a total bloodbath but while reading, I know I was totes on the edge 🙂 I didnt like though how long and slow the story got in the cave and how it ended up in a love triangle situation 😦 I just thought that it was more of a thriller/drama to end with a love total twilight vibes when the book ended :))

The movie I was really excited to see cause I did enjoy the book. The actors were so great I totes felt sad at every district 12 scene..but like what my bro said, the movie impression was more sad than poor like in the book and poverty seemed more important..however, not in a movie maybe cause I got so teary eyed with Prim. I liked that it was so sad and how Katniss was seriously how I imagined her to be. I hated some details that got lost..some dialogues I loved from the book. Honestly, I’d rather they made a 5 hour film of this just so they get all the book details in..hehe! Geekery isn’t for everyone okay? 🙂 I didn’t like how the Games wasn’t so thrilling as in the book. But I loved how the movie was more political than lovey covey especially the end. I loved how Katniss had that face that there’s something else at the back of her mind 🙂

After the movie, I really had to ask my dad how he found it cause he didn’t read the book and seriously, I don’t think that the movie came out very exciting if you didn’t read the book. Personally, it wasn’t as thrilling as the book but because I’ve read it, I felt excited to see everything. And the thrill only goes as far as when the movie shows something different from the book. Does that make sense? Well, to my dad, it does cause that’s what he said. It seemed boring if not for me and my sins telling him the story. He felt confused at times and there really just could’ve been more action. It is about having to fight for your life naman diba? 🙂

Well, all in all, both were fine. Worth the time and penny..but I’m thinking this isn’t for as much as the rave went, I think there’s not much to last about it. I’m hoping that the second one gets better..more action, more depth in the story and more surprises 🙂

If you haven’t seen it, you better get a ticket already cause I bet everyone’s gonna be watching out for the next movie 🙂

❤ Jessica

PS I by the way didn't like how clean they were when the movie ended at the lake, I mean, the totes don't look like they survived a 24 people bloodbath..just sayin 😉

It’s The Sign

03/23/2012 § 3 Comments

First off, I made this image 🙂 I don’t want you guys thinking someone made a sweet card for me..LOL this is just my way of illustrating how I wish that when I see Mr. Man, that the sign would be THIS much clear for me to know he’s the right one to fall for..hehe!

I was inspired to make this cause a friend just asked me tonight “Why do I have to experience this [breakup] again ? What’s wrong with me?” and I start thinking “there’s nothing wrong with’s just that you’ve been falling for the wrong ones. The ones who want things in life that are different from the ones we want. Or that the things we want now, they don’t want yet”

I dunno about you but, I could totes relate to her. I’m still hoping Mr. Man shows up and it’s just as clear as this so us girls won’t keep getting hurt with the ones not for us 🙂 also for guys who have gotten hurt 😉 cause we tend to see signs like “she’s the one” but she wasn’t 🙂

Don’t you wish that the sign was this much clear as in you could ask the one beside you to confirm the sign so you surely won’t get a broken heart? Lol

And darn do I wish I could follow the advices I give to my

I hope you won’t judge me for’s just a funny thought I had to keep myself cheery from all the broken hearts 😉

Dear Darling Tint

Review: Dear Darling Tint from Etude House

If there’s one make up item I’m guilty of using way back since high school, it’s a lip and cheek tint. I like the ones thats good for lips and cheeks cause it saves me money and effort if I rather used two different items. Also, when without a tan, this item is essential for me because I just look very sick and pale in my real skin 🙂 I started using the one from The Body Shop cause it was at first the only make up brand I trusted however, because they only have one shade, having to use the same thing for years has gotten me a bit bored already so around summer last year, I tried out the ones from Etude House.

Etude House’s Dear Darling Tint is their long wear lip and cheek tint that comes off sheer but is totes buildable. This one looks gel like on the bottle but very liquid when applied ergo, easy to blend. I like tints in general cause they look so natural, they blend to your own skin color, they last all day and you can use them for both your lips and cheeks.

Dear Darling Tint comes in three shades. Basically they come off a sheer red, pink and orange 🙂

I used to purchase the red one but now I’ve moved to using the pink. The orange one is nice but id rather use my orange powder blush for a pop of tangerine. I use this tint almost everyday: during errands, mommy duties and under my blush. Yes I do use a little amount of the pink tint under my blush so I wouldn’t have to retouch in case my blush fades. Besides, having the tint under my powder blush makes it look like ihave a rosy glow under my make up LOL *deception 😉

How I use my Dear Darling Tint (cause I’ve had my fair share of over applying tints and not having the time to wash it off cause it really stains pretty good)

After my moisturizer or BB cream or foundation, I make three dots in a triangle on one cheek then use my index finger to blend from the apples of my cheeks slowly getting bigger until my temples for a faded natural look. I can add more color by adding a dot and then blending..this is better than applying so many all at once for more color because you will only cover a huge area but the color would still show up sheer pink or red 🙂 if you want to build the pigment, do it in layers. When I’m happy with the color, I either set it with powder or use a powder blush over it then set with a mist then finish with powder. On my lips I use this right after brushing. I apply two dots on my lower lip, blend with my ring finger then pat the rest on my upper lip. I let it dry before using my lip balm. But I guess that’s not very good if you have dry and sensitive lips.

I do suggest you guys try this one if you don’t break out on Etude House make up. One bottle lasts 3 months on me.

Why I’ve been repurchasing:

1) costs very affordable at less than 200php
2) does not break me out
3) lasts the whole day on my cheeks
4) very easy to blend
5) very pigmented, a little goes a long way
6) looks natural
7) comes in three shades! 😉

And oh, because it’s from Etude House, the packaging got me in love at first sight! 😉

❤ Jessica

PS Have you ever had an embarrassing moment because of lip and cheek tints? 🙂
